Vanderlande's customers are household names in e-commerce, package delivery, and air transportation.


We are seeking a detailed-oriented, thorough, and organized Operational Buyer to join our Procurement ProjectExecution Team. The Procurement Operational Buyer is responsible for the procurement of 3rd party goods andservices. The Operational Buyer is responsible for executing the tactical aspects of procurement activities to ensurethe timely processing of purchase orders. The Operational Buyer will work closely with the Project Buyers andProject Team to ensure the project needs are met. This positions will report to the Project Procurement GroupLeader.


Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Generate and maintain Project RFQs under guidance and accountability of Project Buyer.
  • Manage the Purchase Order Creation for 3rd Party Equipment and Services.
  • Receive and process Engineering Specifications.
  • Coordinating and monitoring the internal order approval process.
  • Monitoring and entering order acknowledgements.
  • Filing of executed purchase orders and acknowledgements.
  • Report status of Orders via the Project Supply Plan.
  • Expedite and follow up with Open Orders based on Equipment Delivery Program (EDP) dates.
  • Maintain open order reports and expedited deliveries
  • Facilitate resolutions to questions from suppliers or quality issues.
  • Facilitate resolutions in regards to receiving and invoice issues.
  • Measuring and reporting of supplier performance.
  • Entering and maintaining supplier data in ERP system.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Management or equivalent preferred
  • 3+ years of progressive experienced in Procurement
  • Experience with entering and expediting purchase orders.
  • Experience with ERP systems (JD Edwards E1 preferred).
  • Technical / Mechanical training or experience.
  • Exceptional MS Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience working in teams.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Travel:
This position requires up 5% travel.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
