Job Description

Job Summary

The Portfolio Manager is responsible for AITX's railcar fleet management activities including lease remarketing and renewal analysis, lease structuring, pricing analysis, and scrap decisions. The Portfolio Manager also provides key inputs and supports new railcar acquisitions, secondary market transactions, and investment/divestment analysis. The position will also support and implement process improvements for both portfolio management activities and broader cross-functional initiatives. The position will work cross functionally with Commercial, Risk, Finance, Contracts, Operations/Engineering and IT.

Job Duties

  • Remarketing and renewals - Remarketing- Work closely with sales, credit and operations teams to manage assignment opportunities, deal flow and execution
  • Manage pipeline of customer opportunities to maximize assignment success Scrap and sales - Manage and continuously improve scrap decision process
  • Work closely with sales, credit and operations teams to manage assignment and renewal opportunities
  • Pricing - Provide support for lease pricing analysis and recommendations for existing railcars, portfolio sales and acquisitions. Utilize pricing models and provide support for the underlying assumptions/inputs
  • Strategic Planning & Reporting - Assist in the development and execution of strategic planning for the railcar portfolio.
  • Market Analysis- Proactively follow and understand key commodities, industry trends and regulatory changes that impact the Portfolio Manager's fleet and customers
  • Data Analytics - utilize and manage existing data and in-house information to formulate key decisions and to support assumptions regarding the Portfolio and transactions

Experience

Leasing background with preference for candidate with [3] or more years relevant experience in railcar leasing)

Job Requirements

  • Outstanding analytical skills including data analysis and problem solving
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Attention to detail but ability to see the big picture
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products; PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Word, etc.
  • Ability to travel moderately to attend customer meetings and industry conferences and events
  • Hybrid role with 3 days in the office

Education

B.A. or B.S. in Business, Finance or Management is preferred
